NUHAKA NEWS
(lirnilil Correspondent.) Advice lias been received by Mr. A. Ramlose that his son. Hector, who is serving on H.M.S. Leandor. has been successful in passing his examination as a first class stoker with 100 per cent marks, thus gaining the distinction of being top of his class.
The Misses J. and D. Black have returned to Gisborne, having spent the week-end at Nuhaka. —Mrs. R. Mclntyre is visiting her sister in Hastings.—Mr. and Mrs. 11. Schwass, Tolaga Bay, were visitors to Nuhaka last week-end.—Mrs. N. Alexander is spending a holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Schwass, To’mgn Bav.—Mrs. T. Howard, Misses I. McKenzie, Kerr, and Watson spent the week-end at Waikaremoana.
A very enjoyable afternoon was Focnt at Tahaenui on Saturday when Mrs. F. Thompson entertained 25 child:on at a birthday party in honour of Pat and Peter Steele, and Dawn Tkomos-m. A delicious afternoon lea was thoroughly enjoyed.
