CHANCE FOR YOUNG MEN 111 NOW,IN TRAINING At the Trentham camp 111 members of the special force, who from (heir address and appearance represent the best type of young New Zealander, arc being given a chance to prove their worth as leaders. They have been selected purely on the worth they have already shown in the short period they have served with the special force. They will go through a six weeks’ course at the Army School of Instruction, of which Major J. I. Brooke is commandant. At the end of that lime they will be given tests which will determine whether or not they measure up to the standard required for junior officers for the second echelon oi the Special force, which probably will be called up in December. The men have been drawn from the three mobilisation camps—Burnham, Ngaruawahia and Trentham—and come from the artillery, engineers, rifle and machine-gun battalions and army service corps. Their ages range from 22 to 35.
