ABUSE BY GOEBBELS
CHURCHILL ATTACKED FATE OF ATHENIA (Reed. Oct. 24, 9 a.m.) BERLIN, Oct. 22. The Nazi Minister of Propaganda, Dr. Goebbels, broadcasting from Berlin to-day, addressed his remarks to the First Lord of the British Admiralty, Mr. Winston Churchill.
He reasserted that the First Lord was responsible for the sinking of the Athenia and declared it had been proved on the unimpeachable evidence of an American witness named Anderson that three British destroyers were responsible for sinking the vessel.
Dr. Goebbels devoted has entire speech of 83 minutes to abusing Mr. Churchill, giving an extraordinary account purporting to be Mr. Churchill's plan to blow up the Athenia.
