GRIMLY AMUSING

DISPLAY OF NAZISM

NEW YORK COMMENT (Reed. Oct. 24, 9 a.m.j NEW YORK, Oct. 23. The New York Herald-Tribune, in an editorial, says: ‘Tt cannot be imagined that even Dr. Goebbels is so grotesque as to repent the amazing theory that Mr. Winston Churchill sank the Athenia. "Dr. Goebbels, for his final proof, turns to the affidavit filed by Gustav Anderson, a travel bureau operator, who declared that the Athenia was carrying coast defence guns to Canada. This did not refer to British sinking of the Athenia and can scarcely be regarded as conclusive in other respects. The repetition of the yarn chiefly interests the United States as a grimlyamusing revelation of Nazi-ism."
