NURSERY TO ABSOLVE CHERRY PICKER’S WIN (Per Press Association.) MASTERTON, this day. The Masterton Racing Club’s meeting was opened to-day in fine weather. The course was in splendid order. There was a large crowd. Results: — Nursery Handicap, of £65; 4 furlongs.—2 Absolve, 8.2 (Wiggins), 1; 1 Enrich, 8.5, 2; 3 Miss Hallomet, 8.0, 3. A neck; half a length. Time, 49 4-5. Electric Handicap, of £95; 1 mile.— 6 Cherry Picker, 8.5 (Jenkins), 1, 4 Gothic, 7.12, 2; 1 The Ring, 8.8, 3. Scr.: Great Bramble. A head; half a head. Time, 1.42. Trench Law was fourth. Highweight Handicap, of £100; 1 mile.—s Cricket, 9.13 (Anderson), 1; 1 Cuisinier, 10.4 2; 4 Debham, 9.10, 3. Two lengths; three lengths. Time, 2.11 3-5. Sky Limit was fourth. Masterton Handicap, of £130; 1 mile.—4 Mishna, 8.0 (Burgess), 1; 2 Gay Chou, 9.0, 2; G Arctic King, 8.13, 3. All started. Two lengths, one and a-half lengths. Time, 1.40 Winsome Lu was fourth.
