Celebrations Curtailed
Drastic curtailment of centennial activities was decided upon at a meeting of the North Auckland Centennial Committee at Whangarei. It had been proposed to transfer the Northland court from the Exhibition to the Whangarei Winter Show in June, 1940, but the scheme was dropped, as was the proposed exhibition of New Zealand art Which was to have been held in Whangarei during May.
