GOOD COMPETITION The 'New Zealand Loan and Mercantile A Percy 'Com'-vinv. Limited, rcoort. that at the C'potiki Spring Cattle Fair there was a good yarding of mixed cattle in fair condition, which met with good competition so far as aged cattle were concerned, but bidding on the 18-months cattle was poor. Quotations: Three-year Hereford bullocks in .fair condition, £8 2s; tihreeyear Shorthorn steer- £7 7s; "”o - a hall year steers, £G to £6 10s;
three-year Jersey steers in fair order, to £0; two-year Polled Angus steers, £4 10s to £4 12s; small two-year Polled Angus steers, to £3 18s; two and a half year Friesian steers, in poor condition, to .£3 18s 6d; fat cows, to £5 10s; yearling Hereford heifers, poor condition, to £2; well-growp Jersey heifers, to £4; others were passed at £3 ss; a >.iice pen of two-year Polled Angus steers was passed at £5 7s 6d; four-year Jersey -bullocks, £4 10s.
