Hastings Wedding

Jackson—Lowe Citadel Ceremony Lovely peach blossom, rhododendron and a huge wedding bell adorned the Salvation Army Cnadc., Hastings, on Saturday, when Christina Isabel, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lowe, of Hastings, was married to Thomas Charles, eldest son of Mrs. M. Jackson and the late Mr. T. J. Jackson, of Gisborne.

Major L. Tong performed the c rnony.

The bride was given away by her fa.ther. She wore a beautiful bridal gown of white Swiss muslin with a pretty daisy design in broderie Anglais. The heart-shaped bodice was gathered into a wide high-pointed waist and the full pleated skirt was linished at the waist with a pleated frill which matched that edging the sleeves. Her tulle veil edged with cutwork daisies and worn becomina'.v with a coronet of orange blossom, fell in billowy folds to the hem of In. gown. She wore a double string o’ Richelieu pearls and carried a beau tiful bouquet of white carnations aaf

cyclamen, lily of the valley, frcesi and cinerarias.

Four bridesmaids attended tb. bride, the Misses Mabel and Jeanette Lowe, the bride’s sisters, Amu. MacKinnon, Maraekakaho. and Dow McLean, of New Plymouth, tin bride’s cousin. All four bridesmaid wore charming gowns of similar design in Swiss organdie. Misses Mnbc Lowe and Annie MacKinnon were b mist pink and white with matchir. velvet -sashes, and Misses Isob McLean -and Jeanette Lowe were r powder blue with matching vel.c. sashes.' The gowns were fashioned with high waistlines, full puffed sleeves and bouffant skirts. Pink and blue iflbwers were worn in their hair and they all carried bouquets harmonising with their gowns. Mr. Norman E. Jackson, Auckland, the bridegroom’s brother, was -best man, and Mr. Fred Green, Hastings, was groomsman. The ushers were Mr. Jock Lowe, bride’s brother, and Mr Bert Sawyer. A reception was held at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Hastings. The bride travelled in a tailored suit of storm blue with a dark clover pin stripe and a clover astrakhan swagger coat and smart matching hat.
