WARSHIPS FOR HAWAII
U.S. FLEET DETACHMENT (Reed. Sept. 27, 1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 2(1. The Washington correspondent of the Associated Press of America says it is authoritatively learned that the United States Navy Department has decided to send a substantial detachment of the fleet to Hawaiian waters. The centralisation of the fleet at San Pedro has been criticised in some naval quarters.
