HOARDS ABROAD

NAZI PARTY LEADERS DENIAL BY GOEBBELS EXTRAVAGANCE QUOTED AUTHORITATIVE REMINDER (Reed Sept. 27. 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 2G. The Ministry of Information cites “authoritative” sources in reply to the denial by the Nazi Minister of Propaganda, Dr. Goebbels, that the Nazi leaders had accumulated fortunes abroad.

The reply refers to the sumptuous parties and private extravagances of Dr. Goebbels and the immediate withdrawal of a film depicting his luxurious home life. Mention is made of the possession by Field Marshal Goering of 42 motor cars, an entertainment costing 500,000 marks for a hunting expedition, and his demands for museum pieces in order to decorate his homes, as well as other instances of ostentation.
