OBITUARY
MR. JOHN McMILLAN
SAI.VATIOX ARMY OFFICER
Commissioner John McMillan, whose death has been reported from London, was appointed chief of staff and second in command of the International Saiv-ation Army in April, 1937. lie succeeded Commissioner Henry W. Mapp. At the time Commissioner McMillan was in charge of the Army’s work in Canada. Deceased was well known in Auckland, having visited the city frequently when he was stationed in Melbourne in the office of field secretary. New Zealand was at the time part of the Australasian command, and frequent visits to the Dominion were necessary. After leaving Australia, he went to America, where he assisted Miss Eva Booth, who was at that time in command in the United States., 'His position there was that of territorial commander. He was then transferred to Canada.
