The Wellington Amateur Rowing Association has decided to submit a remit to tire annual meeting of the New Zealand association recommending that the invitation to an Australian crew to visit New Zealand in February next be withdrawn.
Members expressed the opinion that if the war continued, there was very little likelihood of the visit eventuating.
A further remit suggested was that all championship regattas be postponed for the duration of the war, but it was eventually decided that action should be delayed till the end of December.
Further remits to be submitted to the annual meeting of the New Zealand association include a proposal to reduce the championship races to the Olympic distance of a mile and a quarter. It was mentioned that if the remit, is carried it will not affect the interprovincial eights.
