YOUNG MAN’S DEATH MANGAPAPA TRAGEDY MOR NI.YG DT SCO VERY A tragic discovery was made in Manga papa earl ylhis morning, when Francis Lionel Samson, aged 21, single, was found dead, his head being under water in a large tank,. Mr. Samson is engaged on a milk run. and it is his custom to commence work at 2.30 a.m. each day in order to get the milk ready for delivery. The deceased, who was living with his brother, Mr. G. T. M. Samson, 009 Ormond road, rose as usual this morning, and went to a tank where the milk for the morning's round was kept. A number of cans stood u> water in an iron tank about 4ft square, about 701 b of. milk being m each can.
It is thought that the deceased was lifting a can out when he either slipped from the box on which . lie was standing or took a fit. When found his head was below the level of the water, which was lfiin deep In the tank, and his body was uppermost. The discovery of the body in this'attitude was made by Mr. William Hanna at about 4 o’clock. Artificial respiration was tried without success.
Arrangements have been made for an inquest to be held on Monday.
