The oil fuel controller stated yesterday that it had come under his notice that prior to the operation of tiie emergency regulations a number of persons had secured stocks of petrol as a reserve .supply and that this petrol was being stored in drums and other containers under conditions which did not comply with the safety regulations under the Explosive and Dangerous Goods Act and without a license under that Act.
It, therefore, was notified for public information that it was necessary for a license to be taken out where more than eight gallons of petrol was stored.
