me. HULTQUIST’S action MOVfe BY COUNTY COUNCIL The charge that the member of Parliament for the district, Mr. A. G. Hultquist, had tried to upset a recent public meeting held in Opotiki was made by Mr. H. Medley at a meeting: of the Onotiki County Council. A letter was received from the] acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, stating that a' message had been given to Mr. Hullquist to be present at the meeting, but he had Stated that he had no opportunity ot doing so The council passed a motion upholding the action of the chairman, Mr. W. A. Gault, at the meeting, m view ol the fact that Mr. Hullquist was withholding the information given to him by the acting-Prime Minister. The council also decided to write to Mr. Fraser asking him to instruct the member to give the information to the council.
