ESTIMATED CASUALTIES
THOUSANDS OF GERMANS POLISH INTERPRETATION (Reed. Sept. 11, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 10. A broadcast from Wilno estimated that 45,000 German troops had been killed in Poland so far and over 17,000 had been wounded. Nearly 300 planes had been shot down. Thousands of tanks and armoured cars had been seized. The German High Command states that the casualties in Poland have averaged nine men killed and 40 wounded for every 10,000 troops engaged. The German Propaganda Ministry has announced that the field operations in Poland are outside the 1914 German boundaries. It would be a misapprehension to say that Germany had fixed new boundaries on the basis of 1914.
