WOMAN’S ORDEAL
WANDERING LX IVI'SM MELBOURNE, Sept. 1. Almost exhausted, and with her clothes torn and wet. Miss Bella Evans, aged 65. who disappeared from Her home at Glenlyon on Saturday, was found to-day as she walked across an open paddock about two miles from Daylesford. The woman had been wandering in the bush for two days and two nights, and had been without food. Her broken shoes showed that she had done ■ much walking. The area through which she must have roamed is heavily timbered with thick undergrowth, and has many dangerous ravines running through it. Miss Evans was brought to the Daylesford police station. She said she had not eaten anything since she left home, but otherwise she refused to taik of her experience. She was taken to the Daylesford district hospital and admitted. Her condition is not serious. i
