Gift from Poland
The members of the Polish Junior ■Red Cross Circle at the Public School for Boys in Kamiouka Strurnilowa, Poland, have sent to the children of the Native School WaiI tapu, Rangi Point, Hokianga, a doll 1 dressed in Polish national costume similar to the dolls which are shown in the photograph. The following is a translation of the charming letter which accomplained the gift:— “Dear Friends from New Zealand i— Many thanks for your beautiful portfolio with views of your country. We enjoyed it greatly. We are sending you a doll dressed in our ■folk costume from the district of Cracow. Her name is ‘Basia.’ Please tell us if you liked it. We are enclosing a picture of the juniors of our school. We are wishing you a happy summer vacation and remain.” The letter is signed: “Your true friends, members of the Polish Red
Cross Circle at the Public School for Boys in Kamiouka Strumilowa, Poland." i
