It is stated mat there will be no Davis Cup competition until the end of the war. The Associated Press of America dwells on the drama of the final, recalling that the victory was under similar circumstances to that of 1914. Tributes were paid to the Australians that they were not only the better but the gamer team. For the first time in history, the win was secured after losing the first twe games. They consider that the United States faces a tremendous task in regaining the cup cu- the fast Australian courts. When the Australian team arrived in New York to-day the manager. Mr. H. Hopman, telephoned Mr. Kitts, of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, pleading that the team was anxious to compete in the national tournament, and suggesting that there was no need for a panic rush homewards. He was awaiting a cabled decision front Australia.
