ROOFING IRON SCARCITY

(Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day.

An acute scarcity of corrugated roofing iron has developed in the building trade as a consequence of the interruption of shipments from Australia, when suppliers. in July refused to make deliveries unless payment was first made. The iron and .steel trade is now stated to have agreed to the Reserve Bank’s credit terms, and it is anticipated that supplies of corrugated iron will begin to come on the market again about the beginning of this month.
