SIX THEFT CHARGES
VARIETY OF ARTICLES SUPERVISION ORDER Six charges of theft involving articles, and including a camera, a leather purse, a pair of sandals, men’s trousers, a coat, school-bag, a pair of gum boots and a pair of football boots, were preferred against a Maori boy who appeared before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M.„ in the Children’s Court to-day. The prosecutor, Senior-Sergeant .T. F. H. Macnamara, said that the boy's parents control was not all that it should be. Several complaints of thefts had been received and the offences were admitted by the accused. Later, the boy committed other offences. The boy had no idea of the rights of other person’s property and seemed to go around stealing everything he could, lay his hands on.
It was pointed out that the defendant was to leave his present surroundings and reside with relatives, with a view to making a new start. He was placed under the supervision of the child welfare officer for 12 months.
