ESPIONAGE SUSPECTED

TRAVELLERS TO GERMANY

(Reed. Aug. 30, 1.30 ip.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 29,

According to a passport -collector, a Customs search is toeing made for armaments and spies aboard the German liner Bremen.

The New York World-Telegram states that 17 passengers were taken to Ellis Island. Thirty doctors, believed to toe returning to Germany for military service, were seized toy the Customs.

The Associated 'Press of America states that the French liner Normandie and the Bremen -were held up because the 'Customs are searching foreign ships for armaments that could be used to prey on ocean commerce in the event of war.
