WELCOME IN WARSAW CHAMBERLAIN SPEECH TRIBUTES IN PARIS \ CONCERN IN ROME (Elec. Tel. Copyripht—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Aug. 30, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 29. A message from Warsaw states that Mr. Neville -Chamberlain’s speech in the House of Commons was well received, specially the passages _ referring to the firmness of British policy. Paris reports state that Mr. Chamberlain's speech is endorsed as one of the strongest he has made and as vitally important as it wais delivered on -the day that Herr Hitler was making his final decision. .
Rome messages state that Mr, Chamberlain’s speech has not-relieved the anxiety. On- the contrary it is noted with alarm that he showed no signs of proposing concessions to Poland. The publicist, Signor Gayda, says: “The British reply tends, to indicate methods of procedure instead of dealing with substantial points for a solution of the conflict. It is evidently held that there -are still margins for discussion, however meagre and difficult Italy’s diplomatic acti >n turns on these -margins.”
