Wall—Fredsberg’ Wedding-

Bride In Rich Cream Satin

A marriage of considerable interest in Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne took place on Saturday afternoon -at Pakahu Church, the bride being Miss Nellie Christina Fredsiberg, daughter of iMr. and Mrs. C. Fredsberg, Konini street, Hastings, and the bridegroom Mr. William Hugo Wall, lately of Gisborne and now of Pukekohe, son of Mrs. Marshal], Pahiatua, and the late Mr. Wall, Wanganui. The Rev. Mr. Hall performed the marriage ceremony, the service being choral.

The bride made a lovely picture as she walked up the aisle escorted by her father. The exquisite bridal gown was fashioned of a rich cream satin, the frock 'being shirred in divided rows at each side of the front of the bodice.. The neckline was Vshaped. The sleeves were long and fitting at the wrist, and the skirt was full and fell into a long train, ornamented at the hem with quilting. The long cream tulle veil was surmounted on her head by a satin halo, and the veil was trimmed with smart satin bows. A fragrant bouquet of cream and pink flowers and ferns was carried. Two bridesmaids were in attendance, the Misses Linnia and Ingrid Fredsberg. They presented a picturesque appearance frockcd in palest petrel blue floral organdie, mounted on 'blue sat; l .!. They wore silver halos and silver shoes and carried pretty bouquets of pink flowers and ferns.

Mr. E. O’Hailoran attended as best man, and Mr. L. Winstaniey was groomsman.

After the ceremony the guests motored to “Otuaruamia,” Waipawa, the beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs. H. Carlson, aunt of the bride, where the reception was held. The guests were welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Fredsberg and Mrs. Marshall. Mrs. Fredsberg was smartly dressed in vineyard wool crepe, made on smart lines, and black hat. Mrs. Marshall wore a stylish ensemble of navy blue, heavily embroidered in white, and navy hat.

When Mr. and Mrs. Wall left for the north, the bride travelled in a brown costume and brown taffeta hat, and handsome fox fur stole, the gift of the bridegroom.

Children’s Party

On Saturday afternoon Miss Olive Steele gave a very jolly party for her nephew and niece, David and Janet Steele, at Mr. F. P. Muir’s seaside cottage at Wainui Beach, which haft been placed at her disposal for the occasion.

The 'weather was particularly kind, and fun and frolic prevailed in the .garden, the gay scene—there are few sights more fascinating than a children’s party—being watched by a number of adults, who enjoyed the fun just as much as the younger generation.

A wonderful party tea was served indoors, spring flowers and balloons of every hue forming an effective setting for the guests. Violets shed their fragrance upon the charmingly arranged tables, which were further enhanced with quaint favours.

Among the guests were Mesdames A. Steele, W. K. Andrews, P. A. Pettit, M. Holden, E. T. Chrisp, T. J. Caesar, R. C. Parker, S. Von Pein, and Miss N. Steele; James, Peter and Susan Parker, Ralph, John and Dale Von Pein, Peter Pettit, Michael and Anne Holden, Pamela and Phillippa Chrisp, Michael and Avala Caesar, Michael and Alison Andrews, and Warwick Steggall.
