From a sprig of orange blossom, which the bride’s mother wore on her wedding day, billowed a circular veil of ivory tulle, which had been worn successively by nine Hawke's Bay brides, and which belongs to .he Wilder family.- A bouquet of lilies, hyacinths, freesias, azalias and gardenias was carried by the bride. Large sapphire blue bows caught with pink flowers were .vorn in their hair, and they carried bouquets of pink tulips, hyacinths and begonias. Two little flower-girls, 'Jennifer Ormond and Belinda Carver, and two small pages, Tim Wall and Tom Hope were also in attendance, the two former wearing frocks of blue taffetas with wreaths of pink rosebuds in their , hair, and the latter dressed in Eton suits. The little girls also carried similar flowers to those of the bridesmaids. The best man was Mr. Dan Ormond and the groomsmen were Messrs. Dick Ormond, Wairoa, Harnish Wilson Bulls, N. Wilder, Tim Williams and Walmsley Canning. Acting as ushers were Messrs. Tony Wall, Walcott Ormond, W. Sherratt and David Ritchie. She carried a bouquet of pink flowers. Mrs. J. D. Ormond, who assisted her, was in a frock of beige crepe trimmed with brown fur and a large straw hat swathed with a band of beige chiffon. Her bouquet was of flame-coloured flowers.

Race Fashions at Epsom

Except for an occasional shower, the Auckland Trotting Club was favoured with fine weather for the August meeting held at Alexandra Park, Epsom, on Saturday. The tailored suits and ensembles' in Harris and plain tweeds held pride of place in the frocking, a most attractive finish to these in many eases being given by accessories, blouses or jumpers in bright contrasting shades. Smartly-cut wool coats with tailored or fur collars, worn with gay scarves, also had many adherents. The hats were of infinite variety, many swathed with veiling or trimmed with mounts or jaunty quills, while others were banded with ribbons or bunched in the front with posies of flowers.
