RUGBY STANDARDS
GAME IN SOUTH AFRICA PREPARING FOR N.Z. TOUR (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The opinion that the All Blacks, when they tour South Africa next season, would find the African standard of play exceptionally good was expressed by Lord A. P. De Villiers, a passenger by the s.s. -Maunganui, who will make a short stay in New Zealand. He added that the South African people were looking forward to the New Zealand visit.
When he left Natal, the Rugby season was just started, with evidence of remarkable keenness.
The visitor, who is 28 years of age, succeeded to the title in 1934. He was educated at Oxford University, and is a large land-owner in South Africa.
