RADIO DANCE MUSIC

EARLY SUNDAY MORNING

REPLY TO COMPLAINT

'Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day

“The change was made without my authority and 1 as soon as it came to my knowledge instructions were issued to restore the stations to their normal hours of transmission.”

This was the reply which the Post-master-General, the Hon. F. Jones, made to a complaint by Mr. J. A. Roy (Ntat., Clutha) that a commercial radio station continued broadcasting dance music till 1 o'clock on Sunday mornings for the convenience of persons holding parties. The Minister also informed Mr. Roy that the official journal of the Presbyterian Church would not in future be prohibited from publishing advance notices of church broadcasts.
