REMOVING A DANGER

PEEL‘STREET TAXI STAND

TURNING BY MOTORISTS

In order to eliminate any possibility of an accident by motorists turning across the taxi stand in Peel street, a railing is to be erected from the convenience for 15ft. towards Gladstone road.

This fence is to prevent motorists turning from one side of the street to the other at that point, and was decided upon by the Gisborne Borough Council following a complaint by the Taxi Proprietors’ Association. The inspection committee viewed the spot, and found the complaint justified. The committee’s recommendations were adopted by the Borough Council at its meeting last night.
