The .Mayor of Wanganui, Mr. W. J. Rogers, who .was operated upon in the Wanganui Public Hospital on Friday for the recurrence of a former trouble, came through the operation successfully. It will foe two weeks (before Mr. Rogers is able-to resume his duties. Mr. lam D. Blair, formerly of the staff of Canterbury Agricultural! College, Lincoln, where he was assistant biologist and l senior house master, left last week by itihe Port Fairy for London, where lie will study under the terms of a Macmillan Brown research scholarship in agriculture. Miss R. Baty who is a student at the Teachers’ Training College, Auckland, is spending the holiday vacation with her parents.—The Misses P- and A. Atkins and Master T. Atkins, who attend college in Auckland, are spending the term holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Atkins.
