GREATER LONDON WIDE TRANSPORT AREA (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 15. The whole urban population of Greater London, wlhich was 6,500,000 in 1901, as estimated at 8,655,000 in 1937, compared with the 7,000,000 of New York.

If Greater London is taken to include lithe stilt larger area sewed by the 'London Passenger Transport Board, its population would be 9,700,000.

The figures' reveal the continuing migration of the population to districts beyond the administrative county. The population of the county was at .its highest in 1901, when it was 4,536,267. Since then it has fallen steadily and in 1938 was 4,062,800.
