REVIVING INTEREST
RUGBY AT WAIKAREMOANA WAIROA UNION'S ACTION (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. For the purpose of reviving interest in Rugbv football at Waikaremoana, 'he management committee of the Wairoa County Rugby Sub-Union decided, at a meeting on Tuesday evening, to send! the Waipapa senior team to play Waikaremoa'iia in Tuai on Saturday, September 9, and on the same day in Wairoa a benefit match for injured players would be held at Lamibton Square between the Wairoa Young Farmers' Club team, and the Wairoa senior colts. The orotest from High School concerning, the match against Y.M.P. a fortnight ago was upheld, the match and points being awarded .to High School. The protest alleged that Y.M.P. in their match against School had iptoycd some members of itihe Nulla tea club. Advice was received from the Wairoa branch of Messrs. J. S. Allan and Son, Gisborne, that they had donated a cup for the third grade championship, and it was decided to forward a latter of thanks. The following are' the junior fixtures for Saturday:—Waikaremoana v. Y.M.P.. at Domain, 1.30 p.m.; Nuhaka v. 'Waipapa, Wairoa No". ■ 2 ground, 1.30 p.m.
