HONEYMOON COUPEE’S WIN
Romantic circumstances surrounded the winning of the second prize of 01000 in the “Golden Dawn” art union by Mr. J. R. Major, Feilding. Mr. and Mrs. Major were in Stratford on their honeymoon, and they were on their way to a thoatre when Mr. Major picked up a sixpence on lie footpath. He went into a swe'ethop and bought an art union ticket iving the pen-name of “Lucky Sixicnce.” That was on the clay the art in ion closed; previously they had bought a ticket in the same art union n New Plymouth.
Mr. Major is a carpenter employed ■n Feilding and is a son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Major, Rongotea. Mrs. Major : s a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Laurenson, Denbigh street, Feilding.

Tolaga'Bay Visitors Over the week-end a visit was received from a team of ladies and men bom the Tolaga Bay Golf Club, when under ideal weather and playing conditions and closely contested games "he match resulted in a draw, both "h-e visitors and home players scoring '(i wins and- four halves. On behalf of the heme players, Mr. Robb tha liked the Tolaga Bay players f or making the visit and further "lementing the cordial and fricndlj •elalions existing between the two clubs. Mr. 11. Irving, on behalf of the visitors, suitably responded, and particularly thanked the non-playing 'aclies for the way they looked after the wants of those playing. The da> was voted by all a most enjoyable and .successful one.
