Chrisp tied with C. H. Wells and E. R. Black, both pairs being 10 down to bogey. On the morning round, Barry and Chrisp led the field of 34 pairs, with one down only, but in the afternoon round they slumped to nine down. Wells and Black, on the other hand, were seven down in the morning and improved .materially in the afternoon. The tied pairs will play off over 'lB holes during the coming week-end. The eleventh hole on the Awapuni links cost a popular club-member the customary tribute when he did a hole in one recently. This week-end the same player was in good form, and only avoided further honours by putting his tc-e-shot at the eleventh out of bounds. His second effort found the hole and he was able to record a meritorious two. GISBORNE PARK CLUB.
