UNITY AS CHRISTIANS

WORLD YOUTH PLEDGE OPPOSITION TO WAR (Reed. Aug. 4, 9 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, Aug. 2. Tile world confernece of Christian Youth was unable to agree whether a Christian was ever justified in fighting. There were a large number of conscientious objectors among the delegates. “We condemn war, although we disagree on the issue of personal participation,” said a report. Other conclusions reached included the necessity for Christian aid. to the victims of war and persecution and to defend the truth against tendencious propaganda. Delegates pledged themselves to maintain Christian unity, which it was hoped would eventually lead to a united world church.
