MAN SHOT IN ARM

MYSTERY ACCIDENT SERIOUS INJURY (Per Press Assw-Ation.) CARTERTON, this day. Eric Fleet, married, Grey town, is in the Grey town Hospital suffering from a serious gunshot wound in his left arm. It is not known how the wound occurred. Mr. Fleet went to Woodside with a truck to get firewood, ana the first knowledge of the accident was when he staggered into Mr. Dickens’ house in a bad condition, and was taken to the hospital in the ambulance. He could give no information. The truck was found loaded with wood, and a gun in the cab. Mr. Fleet was operated on on Wednesday night, and is progressing favourably, but he is still in a serious condition through loss of blood. His wife also is in hospital seriously ill. and is not aware of the accident to her husband. The victim is thought to be a native of Taihape.
