OAMARU BLANKETED
FALL OF THREE INCHES TRAFFIC? DISLOCATED (Per Press Association.) OAMARU, this day. After a breath oif snow in the air for two days, Oamaru experienced the 'heaviest fall since 1903. Citizens awoke to find the town under a blanket of snow yesterday morning and, after intermittent snow showers and sunshine during the day, the fall set in in earnest late in the afternoon, 3in. of snow lying by nightfall. All the railway and bus services were disorganised, the service from Christchurch' proceeding only to Palmerston South.
The railway express from the north could only proceed as far as the same town, returning to Oamaru last night. The express from Dunedin only reached Sawyer's Bay and then had to return to the city.
