FROST AFTER SNOWFALL
PALMERSTON FROZEN STREETS .ICE -EOTJND (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ this day. Following one of the coldest days in the city for many years, blizzardlike conditions were experienced overnight, a bitter southerly wind bringing snow which fell for about two hours intermittently from 3 o'clock this morning. Later, a frost of ‘A degrees, the most severe this winter, was recorded. This morning residents awoke to find the city under a thin white mantle. The .hills were similarly coated as far as the eye could see, though peculiarly the tops were bare, lire southerly having swept along the foothills.
The streets were frozen over in (he city necessitating careful driving. Numerous cycling spills and minor motor car accidents occurred.
Conditions prevented early track work at Awapuni owing to the snow on the track.
