FIRM CATTLE DEMAND
SHEEP MARKET SOUND STORTFORD LODGE (P«r Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. The demand continued very firm foi prime cattle at Stortford Lodge stoeii sale yesterday, when the best lines brought rising prices. Poorer sorts were not wanted. The few store cattle on offer attracted little attention.
Store sheep showed increases for inlamb ewes and hoggets. A few others on offer realised fair prices, being the .irst to appear for some weeks. but sheep were keenly sought after, all good pens bringing -firm price?, dealisalions were; —
Bat Cattle. —Extra well finished Polled Angus bullocks, £l3 5s to £b i7s ed; prime heifers. £9 10s to £lO 2s; top price, £l2; Shorthorn heifers, good order, £1) to £9; Polled Angus cows, £s 17 - Gd; medium, ,£6 to £7 10s; sealers, £3 to £5 10s. Store Sheep.—Ewe hoggets to 23:" forward wether hoggets, 13s 10U to 15s 3d; medium grown, 11s 4d to 13s; wethers, His fid; five-year in-lamb owes to 24s Gd. < Fat Sheep.—Prime, wethers, tops, s2s: average, 17s to 19s: good lambs to 22s Gd, poorer quality 14s to 10s Gd’ ewes, 15s to 17s.
