RETREAT AT DAWN
FORCES OF CHINESE SHANGHAI BATTLE (Reed. July 29, noon.) SHANGHAI, July 24. The battle in the western suburbs of Shanghai in which 3000 troops of the Chinese Fourth Route army engaged the Japanese yesterday, ended at dawn to-day, the Chinese retiring. This was the biggest clash since the capture of Shanghai.
