SPINSTER’S BALL

POPULAR PUHA DANCE LARGE ATTENDANT 'L (Ili valil Correspondent.) The Spinsters’ Ball held in the Puha Hall on Tuesday evening proved to be a popular function, there 'being a large crowd present, many of whom had journeyed from Gisborne, WiiataUiUi •md Matawai. The hall had been artistically decorated with coloured streamers, greenery and winter (lowering shrubs. The dance music was played by Mrs. Thomson’s orchestra, and during the supper extras were contributed by Mrs. Thomson raid Mr. Gooch. The duties of ‘M.C. were carried out by Misses G. Adams and N. Coates. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr. and Mrs. Drummond, and Mr. Brown and Miss Coates, while a spot waltz, was won by 'Mr. Gooch and Miss Church. A sumptuous fruit salad supper was erved by the committee members and friends from tables prettily decorated with silver and crystal vases of early spring bulbs and asparagus fern.
