TE KARAKA FAREWELL

POST OFFICE OFFICIAL MR. COLIN DORAN (Herald Correspondent.) Prior to his departure for Hawke’s Bay, Mr. Colin Doran was farewelled on Thursday afternoon by members of the staff of the Te Karaka Post Office. Mr. Doran, who has been on the '.staff lor 2\ years, has been transferred to the Waupawa-, Post Office, where he Commences duty this week.

The postmaster, Mr. T. L. Earnshaw, in congratulating Mr. Doran on his promotion, paid tribute to the ■excellent service lie had rendered during his term at Tc Karaka and presented him with a handsome travelling outfit from his fellow-work-ers.

Mr. G. L. Bush, chief clerk, endorsed Mr. Earn, I shaw’s remarks and extended good wishes for future success.

Mr. Doran, in a brief speech, returned thanks for the gift and expressed his appreciation of the amicable relations which lrad prevailed in the office.
