COURT WM. GLADSTONE BROTHER FARE\YELLE D The fortnightly meeting of Court William Gladstone, A.0.F.. was held in the 'Masonic Hall this week, the C.R., Bro. J. Watt, presiding, assisted on the dais 'by the P.C.RAs, Bros. Taylor, G. File, E. File, J. Williamson and F. J. Burrows.
'Correspondence from the Social Security Department with regard to the operation of the Act as affecting mem'bers of friendly societies was received and members commended the secretary, Bro. C. Bruce, on his efforts on their behalf.
Bro. O. Hansen was appointed to the position of Court M.C. for the ensuing year, the C.R. paying a tribute to his enthusiastic support of all matters to improve tiro welfare of the order.
The P.C.R., Bro. F. J. Burrows, tendered his resignation owing to his forthcoming departure from Gisborne. This was accepted with regret, the C.R. and secretary eulogising Bro. Burrows' sterling qualities as a member of the A.0.F., and whilst congratulating him on his promotion, stressed the loss his transfer from Gisborne would be to Court Gladstone. At the end c'f the business an opportunity was given, to members to farewell Bro. Burrows, the social side <pf the 'function being made doubly enjoyable by the dainty supper provided by the social committee. All members of the A.O.F. who have books 'suitable for a lodge library are asked to communicate with the court librarian, Bro. G. 'File, who has in hand the formation of an up-to-date library in Court William Gladstone.
