To the horror of hundreds lining the Dyce aerodrome, Aberdeenshire, the wheel of the Duke of Kent’s plane bogged in taking off and the machine spun round. Before anyone could reach the door of the cabin the Duke of Kent opened o'.t and unconcernedly stepped cut smoking a cigarette. He smiled broadly, bowed an acknowledgment to the cheers ,and walked to the administration buildings, where lie was advised to entrain for London. It was stated that the conditions at the aerodrome were unsuitable for flying.

The Duke of Kent had been fulfilling a number of engagements arranged by the Herring Industry Board.
