RAIDS IN DANZIG
SENSATIONAL ARRESTS DISCOVERY OF ARMS UNDERGROUND OPPOSITION ANTI-NAZI (iER-MANS » (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. July 14, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 14. The Daily Telegraph’s Warsaw correspondent says that seven persons were arrested in Danzig in lightning raids.
A house was searched by the Free City police in which arms and explosives are reported to have been discovered.
Most of those arrested are members of the Social Democratic Party which the Nazis recently dissolved and declared to be illegal. The arrests caused a sensation in Warsaw as revealing the existence of an extensive underground opposition to the Nazi regime among German residents in Danzig.
It is unofficially reported that Danzig has been told to continue its preparations and that a positive development may.shortly be expected.
