The output of the Northern Wairoa Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited’s factory for the season has shown a decrease of 211 tons 7cwt. 91Lb., equivalent to 6.3 per cent, as against the previous season, states the directors’ report to ibe presented at the thirty-seventh annual meeting. Tire total output was 3096 tons 3 cwt., 331 b.

Referring to the payout_for the 1937-38 season, the report states that the report for that season indicated an estimated average payout of 14.1918 d per lb. of butterfat. This figure was increased by id per lb. of fat under the receipt of a supplementary payment of .41 d per lb. of butter from the Primary Products Marketing Department.

The report states that, after allowing for depreciation on buildings, £942 10s 9d, .plant £1728 16s lid, miscellaneous £663 6s, totalling £3334 13s Bd, with butter unsold to the extent of 20,639 boxes and valued at the Primary Products Marketing Department’s schedule of payment, less levy, insurance and estimated freezing charges to f.0.b., there is a balance of £46.164 10s 3d. The directors propose that this amount be disposed of as follows: Interest on 6 per cent shares, entitled to some £1200; amount available for distribution .by way of payment on butter, £44,364 10s 3d, a total of £46,164 10s 3d, which amount it is intended to distribute.

During July there were made 118,468 boxes of export butter, of which ,57,738 boxes, or 48J per cent, gained the Primary Products Marketing Department’s premium of 1/2 .per cwt. for super grade, £1666 10s Cd. The average advance payment during the season for all grades has been 14.3067 d per lb. of butterfat, and, with the amount available for distribution, inclusive of interest on share capital but not of stores, the rebate will return for all grades 16.2595 d per ib. of butterfat.
