RUATORIA POLO BALL
MEMORABLE NIGHT EXPEf TATTOXS EX( ‘REDED ('OLDERHUE SCENE Tiie Ruatoria Polo Club’s ball which was held in the T. S. William’s Memorial Hall, Ruatoria, last Friday night, was a great success. Although it had been long and eagerly awaited, it surpassed all expectations.
-Green and lemon streamers formed a canopy over the heads of the dancers, a large cluster of coloured balloons being suspended from the centre, and the colourful scene being enhanced by the striking frocks worn by the ladies and the hunting “pink” lapels on the coats of some of the visiting huntsmen. !
The stage was attractively decorated with palms. One corner of the hall was arranged with easy chairs and sofas, making a comfortable lounge. Large dance programmes decorated with hunting scenes, cleverly executed by Miss Barbara Reed, adorned the walls.
A delicious savoury supper was served in buffet style from tables in the supper-room, where lemon and green twisted streamers and vases of Iceland poppies and bright flowers and foliage ornamented the tables.
