The Assembly adopted motions that the sugar industry be placed on a sound footing by continuing the Kanaka Laborers Act for ten years, and favouring a Bill prohibiting the leasing of lands to Chinese. The Assembly adjourned till January 7th, Adelaide, Dec 21. In the Assembly the Loan Bill authorising the borrowing of £82.0000, including £500,000 for the construction of an outer harbour, was passed. The Council’s amendments to the Constitution Bill, which fixes the number of Ministers at four, the Members of the Assembly at forty-two, and the Council at eighteen, were adopted. As dual dissolution on March 31st, bring the changes into operation,
