DEATH OF A WELL-KNOWN RESIDENT.

/ (our own corbesponient.) Beunnbb, Dec 17. Quite a gloom was cast over Brunner, when it was known that one of our oldest and most respected residents Murdock McKenzie bad succumbed in the Grey River Hospital at Greymouth, after undergoing a dangerous operation. Deceased has resided here for the past twenty-five years and had taken a great interest in church, school, borough and all matters affecting tho welfare of the district, and was respected by all. He was a prominent mason, good citizen, and loving parent. He haves a wife and large family to morn his loss. Deceased was 59 years of age.
