Fire near Wellington. Willington This Day.

A building about half a mile beyond Kaiwarawara and used in connection with the’New Zealand Candle Coy’s works was destroyed by fire this morning. It was insured in the Guardian office for £3OO and in the Liverpool London and Globe for £SOO.

Five years for assault. In the Supreme Court Paul Chequelle, convicted yesterday of wounding was sentenced to five years.

Fire escapes. The city authorities have decided to prosecute at once all persons who have not complied with the notice to equip their premises with proper fire escapes.
