Control of New Hebrides.

Received this day at 10 30 a.m. Melbourne, Dec 3.

Further representations have been made by the Presbyterian Church to Barton, on the subject of French aggression in the New Hebrides, Barton replying, stated that in February last ho recommended the Imperial Government to establish a tribunal to deal with land disputes more frequently, visits of warships periodically, [a high commission for the western Pacific, and the appointment of a British Resident. The Imperial Government agreed with all except a land ' k tribunal, which is still subject to communications. The Federal 'Tariff. The House reduced the duty on condensed milk to a penny; knocked a penny off toilet soap, half penny off other soaps. The committee are now discussing duty on apparel and textiles.
